Uniquely YOUR style bouquet

When country super-star, Miranda Lambert, walked down the aisle to meet her cowboy, and fellow country super-star, Blake Shelton, she not only rocked her stellar cowboy boots, she carried a brooch bouquet designed from pieces given to her by her bridesmaids. InnCredible!

And Miranda is not the only bride choosing to walk 'flower free'. As 'green' trends gain in popularity, couples are looking for ways to be more eco-friendly, and for some, bridal bouquets are taking on a whole new look. In fact, if you can imagine it, you can probably bouquet-it!

Brooch bouquets are by-far the most popular twist on the traditional flower bouquet. And while these bouquets are gorgeous, they can also be a wee bit on the heavy side. It is reported that Miranda's bouquet weighed about 5 pounds! But, does any bride really care when she's carrying a bouquet this beautiful!!! Nope, not one little bit!

If you're not 'into' brooches, how about buttons? We all have button jars at home, right? How sweet is this? Love it!

Another big trend this year is paper flower bouquets. In fact, the latest edition of 'The Knot - Northern California' has an entire page devoted to paper bouquets. Lovely! And, I can't even tell these are paper, can you?

And while we're talking about paper, let's not forget the most popular paper art, origami. If you love origami, here's the perfect bouquet! And, I don't know about you, but to me, those look like dollar bills. Talk about a 'head start' on marriage!

Pinwheels are hugely popular too...and if your theme is centered around this fun childhood favorite, why not carry that theme through your bouquet? Darling...darling...darling!

Love feathers? Well take a look at this InnCredible bouquet...it's so whimsical!

Every year the butterflies come back to Pacific Grove, California, but you can have them with you on your special day with a fab butterfly bouquet. Don't you just love this! It's so bright and colorful.

And, if you're a crafty-girl, you might want to consider this fun felt bouquet complete with button centers. All I can say is...too cute for words! We have some of this style of awesome "flowers" in the shop now!

If you really want to go DIY, this ribbon bouquet might just be your 'cup of tea'.
All you non-traditional, edgy brides might want to consider an awesome metal bouquet...

Love the look but want a bit more glam? Well, add a few pearls! Simple and elegant!

Getting married at the beach, then how about carrying a seashell bouquet as you walk down the sand to meet your husband-to-be! What a beautiful look!

And I couldn't end this blog post without mentioning one of our favorite trends...succulents. If you're using succulents on your tables, why not carry this campy bouquet?

The good news about these bouquets is that they will last virtually forever!
Well, accept for the succulent bouquet, that is...

Just remember, the choice is always yours. Pick the bouquet that fits your personality, the theme of your wedding and your colors, and enjoy your big day!
thanks to inncredible events

This Awesome Urn Will Turn You into a Tree After You Die

Bios3
You don't find many designers working in the funeral business thinking about more creative ways for you to leave this world (and maybe they should be). However, Spanish designer Martin Azua has combined the romantic notion of life after death with an eco solution to the dirty business of the actual, you know, transition.
His Bios Urn is a biodegradable urn made from coconut shell, compacted peat and cellulose and inside it contains the seed of a tree. Once your remains have been placed into the urn, it can be planted and then the seed germinates and begins to grow. You even have the choice to pick the type of plant you would like to become, depending on what kind of planting space you prefer.

I, personally, would much rather leave behind a tree than a tombstone. "

Jessica sent me this link, it's from bigthink.com. This is such a good idea! If I don't go with the pinebox, I'm definately going with the Willow Tree Urn!

Vintage jewelry for your wedding party

These are a few AWESOME creations from my Eco-Chic Craftaular neighbor, The Dark at Heart.

Couldn't you see your bridesmaids wearing these??
(obviously they wouldn't be exactly the same, but still So charming.)

Some vintage pieces may have signs of wear...this adds charm and history...please continue to tell their story. I hope you will be able to enjoy these pieces as much as whomever else wore them did!
Soon to come are some super cute Bow ties from Peat and Repeat!

Eco Chic Craftacular!

This weekend was the third annual Eco Chic Craftacular! We
had a wonderful time hanging out with great crafters like
Peat and Repeat and The Dark at Heart. We will absolutely be
back next year! Thank you all so much for coming out to our booth! (Especially those who braved the rain on Sunday!)

There's Justin! He spent the whole weekend supporting me. He even skipped dirt biking and the invite of kayaking. What a great partner!

Here are a few of our succulents.

Succulent Garden

We sent out this super cute succulent garden for a thank you. This customer wanted something to show how grateful he is to someone who makes running his business so very smooth. He was not sure what to send so he left it up to us. We put this together thinking it would be just perfect for an office desk. The customer and the recipient loved it!

My favorite part about Recycled containers!

I just love using all recycled/up-cycled materials! It makes each arrangement unique to the person it is for! Today I had two orders that were very similar. One was for two dozen red roses and the other for two dozen yellow. At a traditional florist these two would look identical, just different in color. This is how they looked coming from EcoFlora:

This is two dozen Yellow roses in a mauve ceramic "bowling ball" looking vase. We tied the colors together using pink wax flower and it was stunning! The customer wanted yellow roses and something ceramic for his 9th anniversary. This absolutely perfect vase was picked out specifically for this customer.
This two dozen Red rose arrangement was a little more traditional in shape, but check out that vase! It is a vintage green vase that my Mom found at a second hand store! The accent in this arrangement is variegated pitt, which I adore!

Up-cycled light bulb terrariums!

These light bulbs are old street bulbs that we got from the city of Westerville.
We took out the innards and planted cute little succulents!
They make great contemporary hanging plants for a home or office!
They are inexpensive and make great unique gifts! We gave one to our neighbors Woody and Evelyn when they moved their Meadery, Brother's Drake, to 5th Ave!

New Business Cards!

In an effort to be a little more "green" I am switching from printed business cards to handmade ones. The Bexley Natural Market has been saving thin cardboard inserts for me and I purchased a stamp from RubberStampPress on etsy.com. I have cut the cardboard into small squares, stamped them and now I have cute little up-cycled business cards!

I actually have ordered a second stamp that is a little bigger, and has our phone number on it. Some of the cardboard is big enough that I am going to be using is as price tags/ descriptions, cards for messages and more!
